Choose MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, or a browser recording. Decoding depends on your browser. Files must be below 20 MB and no longer than 3 minutes. WAV and MP3 are the safest choices.
No automatic transcription is perfect. Basic Pitch works best with one pitched instrument at a time, including some chords. Dense mixes, drums, noise, and heavy effects are much harder. Use an isolated melody or stem for a cleaner draft.
MIDI contains performance data, not recorded sound. Our preview uses a simple synthesized tone. Open the download on an instrument track in your DAW to choose the sound you want.
No. Audio decoding and transcription happen on your device. The page downloads the model files, then processes your recording locally. Refreshing the page clears the current session.
The first run loads the transcription model and starts the processing engine. Speed depends on clip length and your device. Keep the tab open; you can cancel at any time.
Yes. Select notes to change pitch, start time, end time, and velocity. You can also transpose, quantize, delete, undo, and export. The separate editor also opens standard MIDI files.
You are responsible for having the rights to your source recording and its composition. Converting a copyrighted song does not give you permission to reuse it. We don’t claim ownership of your audio or MIDI.
